How to download, save, and share our document (without losing control)

You must create and edit your own copy.
The original is read-only and cannot be edited.
Below are the correct steps for the most common platforms.

Save it to your own Google Drive

How to share it safely

Click Share

Under General access, choose:

Anyone with the link → Viewer

Copy the link and share it
- Others can read
- No one can edit
- No requests to mess with your file
Microsoft Word / OneDrive
How to get your own copy

Open the document
-
Click File → Download → Microsoft Word (.docx)

Upload the file to OneDrive

Open and edit it in Word (desktop or online)

In OneDrive, click Share

Set permission to:

Anyone with the link → Can view

Disable editing

Share the link
Apple Pages / iCloud

Download the document as Word (.docx) or PDF

Open it in Pages

Save it to iCloud Drive

Edit your version

Choose:

PDF (final version only)
PDF is best after you’ve filled in your details.
How to use PDF correctly

First, edit the document in Google Docs, Word, or Pages

When finished:

File → Download → PDF

Share the PDF link
PDF is read-only — changes require going back to the editable file
Important rules (read once)

Always edit your own copy

Never request edit access to the original template

Share view-only links with sitters

Do not allow public editing

You may remove sections that do not apply
